DAY 1: SEPTEMBER 16 /Manaus, Brazil

Welcome to Manaus, Brazil! Manaus is the capital of Brazil’s largest state Amazonas and is located in the Northwest of the country. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the Amazon region.


Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred from the airport to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner to meet your fellow travelers.

DAYS 2 & 3: SEPTEMBER 17-18/ The Amazon

After breakfast, transfer to the lodge for your Amazon exploration, Amazon Ecopark. You will depart by boat, experiencing the remarkable “Meeting of the Waters” en route. 


During the next days, your exact schedule will be announced on arrival. You will experience in depth the nature and culture of the Amazon.  Experience the incredible biodiversity on nature hikes with expert local guides and venture out at night by canoe to appreciate the sounds of the jungle and spot nocturnal creatures.  Visit the Monkey Forest and the rehabilitation center to learn about the re-introduction process of these animals into their habitat. Spend time with a local community to learn about the traditions and customs of the local Amazonian peoples. And more!

Day 4: SEPTEMBER 19 /Amazon / Manaus / Salvador da Bahia

You will depart the lodge this morning and journey through the Amazon by boat back to Manuas in order to connect with your domestic flight to the beautiful, coastal city of Salvador.


Tonight enjoy dinner together on arrival at your luxurious accommodations, Hotel Fasano.

Day 5: SEPTEMBER 20 /Salvador da Bahia

After breakfast, you will head out to trace the African roots of Salvador, combining the residential areas at the mouth of the bay and continuing to the older Historical Center, the Pelourinho area. 


After lunch, gain insight into Candomblé and visit a traditional terreiro, or house of worship. Brought to Brazil by the enslaved, Candomblé  remains mysterious to many and misunderstood by others but is key to understanding the permeating influence that underpins Salvador’s uniquely African identity.


During dinner tonight, take part in a Cachaça tasting and then continue the evening immersed in the permeating African heritage with an exhilarating performance by the Bahia Folklore Company (Balé Folclórico da Bahia), one of the most respected folklore dance troupes in the world.

DAY 6: SEPTEMBER 21/ Cachoeira

Today, leave the city behind to explore the farming hinterland on the western side of the All Saints´ bay. This is the land of sugar cane plantations, peaceful colonial towns and busy country markets, a day of insights into the life in rural Brazil in the cradle of Brazil´s African heritage.


Cachoeira, a Unesco World Heritage site and the jewel of the Bahian hinterland, is nestled in the deep valley of the Paraguaçu River. The town’s importance goes beyond its architectural wealth, being home to a thriving cultural output grounded in African traditions so visible in local art traditions, mainly wood sculpting.


After lunch, visit stores of local artisans before a stop at the Dannemann cigar company where you will see world class cigars being expertly rolled. 


Return to Salvador this evening and be treated to the local Festival da Primavera, held every year on the 21st of September to celebrate the coming of Spring. After enjoying the festival, you will have dinner together in one of Salvador’s delightful restaurants.

DAY 7: SEPTEMBER 22/ Salvador da Bahia / Rio de Janeiro

No other regional cuisine in Brazil is as distinctive as that of Bahia where Mediterranean, African, indigenous and Asian influences form the basis of this truly unique cuisine. This morning you will visit a market with a local chef to pick up ingredients for one of Bahian cuisine’s signature dishes, moqueca. After the market, head to the chefs home for a cooking class and lunch of local flavors.


After lunch, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. This evening, experience another culinary delight – the traditional Brazilian steakhouse in the exciting metropolitan of Rio de Janeiro.

DAY 8: SEPTEMBER 23/ Rio de Janeiro

This morning, you'll embark on a hike in the main sector of the Tijuca National Park, experiencing the nature and lush beauty of this tropical rain forest amidst the city until we reach the Cascatinha Summit, 525m (1722ft), with a nice view to the valley. After the hike, you’ll be rewarded and invited for a dip in a river to refresh and feel the energy of the tropical rain forest. 


No other festivity is more "Brazilian" than the carnival and there is nothing more authentic than the samba schools. Although the famous Carnival Parade happens once a year, the ongoing work behind the scenes happens every day. You will visit the Academicos da Grande Rio warehouse and contemplate their costumes, allegories and curiosities. Learn about the history of Samba and Carnival Parade and then engage in a samba and percussion workshop to learn the rhythms and dance moves of this energetic celebration.


This evening is at your leisure to enjoy dinner on your own at one of the many delicious restaurants in the city.

DAY 9: SEPTEMBER 24/ Rio de Janeiro

Over a million visitors each year ascend to the world famous ‘Pão de Açúcar’, Sugar Loaf Mountain, which has become an iconic symbol of the city of Rio de Janeiro. You will journey to the top in glass cable-cars.


For a fun treat at the top, in a spectacular location, you will have the chance to learn how to prepare not only the original lime caipirinha but also some other exquisite combinations using fruits and spices such as strawberries, cinnamon, green grapes, basil, or pineapple in a stunning setting.


Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner together before heading for a final night out at Rio Scenarium. Once the sun goes down the neighbourhood of Lapa turns into a bustling and vibrant area full of bars, clubs and restaurants. Your local guide will take you to one of the best samba clubs, Rio Scenarium, where you can enjoy the live music and perhaps join the cariocas (residents of Rio) on the dance floor.

DAY 10: SEPTEMBER 25/Rio de Janeiro / Home

Today your journey through Brazil comes to an end. Enjoy time at leisure until your departure. You will be transferred to the airport for your return flights home.

You may book flights to depart Rio de Janeiro 's Galeão International Airport (GIG) anytime on the final day.
