Itinerary:
 

DAY 1: MARCH 1 /Arusha, Tanzania

Welcome to Arusha, Tanzania! Located at the base of the volcanic Mt. Meru, Arusha is a gateway to incredible safari destinations as well as Africa's highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro, situated to the northeast of the city. To the west lies Serengeti National Park, one of the stops on your tour. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred from the airport to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner to meet your fellow travelers.

DAY 2: MARCH 2 /Arusha / Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will depart from Arusha for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch en route. The name Tarangire is derived from the Tarangire River which provides permanent water for wildlife. Famous for its high density of elephants and a wide variety of over mammals, over 300 species of birdlife have been recorded in this park as well. Afterward, enjoy an overnight in a permanent tented camp just outside of the park.

Day 3: MARCH 3/ Tarangire National Park / Karatu (Ngorongoro Crater)

This morning, you will enjoy a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park. Next, depart for Mto Wa Mbu village, a small town with cultural diversity of over 120 ethnic groups. Lunch today is enjoyed at a local banana plantation before embarking on an immersive cultural experience in the village with a local guide from the community. Afterward, continue to your accommodations in Karatu.

Day 4: MARCH 4/ Karatu (Ngorongoro Crater)

After breakfast, you will head into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which boasts a beautiful blend of landscapes, wildlife, people, and archaeology. The volcanoes, grasslands, and mountain forests are home to an abundance of animals, including the big five, and to the semi-nomadic Maasai ethnic group. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthrall visitors. You will descend into the crater for full day game viewing with picnic lunch and drive across the dense forest and near the soda lake to enjoy viewing a variety of bird life.

DAY 5: MARCH 5/ Karatu (Ngorongoro Crater) / Serengeti National Park

After your breakfast, you’ll depart for the Ndutu area for a game drive with a picnic lunch. Stop en route at Olduvai Gorge, the site of archaeological findings where traces of pre-historic man, dating back to 3.5 million years ago, have been discovered. Visit the on-site museum and witness a panoramic view of the historical excavation site. As you head on to your accommodations, visit a local Maasai Boma (village) for a cultural experience.

DAY 6: MARCH 6 /Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti National Park was established in 1952 and is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth - the great migration of wildebeest and zebra – and an impressive resident population of lion, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, and birds. Today you will enjoy a full day safari with a picnic lunch in the Ndutu Area or Seronera area exploring the incredible local ecosystem.

DAY 7: MARCH 7 /Serenget National Park / Zanzibar

Today you’ll transfer to the Ndutu Airstrip for a flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be transferred to your hotel located in Stone Town. From here, you will have easy access to the sights and sounds of this unique cultural city. Rest up from your experiences of the past few days and get ready for the exploration to come.

DAY 8: MARCH 8 / Zanzibar

This morning, you’ll depart for the 'Seaweed Centre' Excursion, to learn about the life cycle of seaweed and gain an insight into seaweed farming as the second biggest industry on the island of Zanzibar.  In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a Historic tour of the Stone Town, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

Dinner tonight is on your own to enjoy at leisure.

DAY 9: MARCH 9 / Zanzibar

This morning, take a local boat ride across to Prison Island where you will have the chance to snorkel and visit the giant resident tortoises.

 

After lunch, you will journey to the Spice Plantations location in the rural areas of the island where local farmers live and produce some of the world’s most exotic fruits and spices. Here you will have the opportunity to taste and smell a variety of fruits and spices unique to the Island.

Afterward, return to the hotel for and enjoy a Farewell Dinner together this evening to commemorate your trip.

DAY 10: MARCH 10 / Zanzibar / Home 

Today you will be transferred to the Zanzibar airport for your return flights home.

ARRIVE / DEPART:

Please plan to arrive in Arusha's Kiliminjaro International Airport (JRO) by 4pm on Day 1 of the itinerary in order to partake in the welcome dinner. Check-in time is 2pm. You can request an early check-in at an additional cost. Domestic flights from Serengeti National Park to Zanzibar are included. You may book flights to depart Zanzibar (ZNZ) anytime on the final day.
